Cancer Research UK is a cancer research and awareness charity formed in 2002. They are the world's largest independent cancer research charity who’s aim is to reduce the number of deaths from cancer. They conduct research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease with their work almost entirely funded by the public. They also provide information about cancer and run campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the disease and influencing public policy.

The challenge

Cancer Research UK required a number that was free to call and that was easy to remember and promote across the media for a new awareness group in East London. They needed the ability to route calls to alternative numbers depending on the time or day, so that calls could always be answered. Which meant they needed further insight in to their call patterns to ensure they had staff coverage at busy times.
